A: IAS Fine Art Logistics has been operating since 1987. From our humble beginnings, we have grown and developed to become Australia’s leading provider of fine art logistics services, and the only truly national fine art logistics company, which offers a full array of services.
A: IAS staff have a culture of relocating items which are delicate, fragile and valuable within a secure environment. Due to the nature of what we do, all IAS employees are required to undergo a national police check prior to their commencement. During their employment, they will be regularly re checked.
We are proud of our staff retention record, with 54% of our staff having been employed with our company for more than 10 years.
A: IAS personnel only handle art, artefacts and exhibitions and have been trained in best practice and handling techniques, to ensure the high level of care required for the safe transport of such items.
A high portion of our staff have tertiary qualifications in the arts along with extensive experience in logistics. All staff undergo an intensive induction and training program on commencement, which is monitored by their supervisor. New staff work alongside senior experienced staff for the first three months of their employment to ensure they are familiar with our company policies, procedures and standards.
We also have a National Training Program, where all staff including management, administration, storage and field staff participate in a two-day program on an annual basis. The program, which is facilitated by our National Training Manager, is designed to up skill all staff and reinforce our company standards of packing, handling and transporting all forms of artwork.
A: IAS has long standing relationships with Australia’s leading art conservation companies and are able to coordinate conservation works to suit your requirements.
Art conservation technicians are able to conserve or restore your artworks, antiques, artefacts or other objects of cultural or heritage significance.
They will assess the condition of existing artworks, and make recommendations for conservation, repair or maintenance, as well as advising on the ongoing care and management of your collection.
They have the expertise to undertake conservation treatment of your objects, textiles, paintings, artworks, furniture, photographs, sculptures, ethnographic metal and stone artefacts, archaeological material, monuments, memorials or building finishes, either in their conservation studios, or on site. They are also able to clean, repair, mend, consolidate, patch, infill, refinish, and remove stains from artworks, artefacts or antiques.
